My Juicing Experience

 http://emilylevenson.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/carrotcitrusingreds.jpg

As many of you know, I struggle with getting my two girls to drink their juice. I have given up on begging and pleading. Informing the oldest of how nutritious the drink is and why it is important for her to drink it has not worked. I've tried everything to no avail.

I have just decided today, that they're going to drink their juice and that is final. I know, I've earned the trophy for the meanest mom ever. That is okay because they will survive.

When I was juicing earlier today, of course my oldest told me she was not going to drink her juice. As I do always, I ignored her, poured juice in her cup and in her youngest sister's sippy cup, and told them they WERE going to drink it. Guess what......... they drank it and that was final. BAHAHAHA evil laugh. I won, at least for now. LOL!!!!

This is what I juiced today.
Plums
Oranges
Spring Mix from Publix
Organic Carrots
Apples

My Juicing Experience

My Juicing Experience:
Trying to be Healthy

This morning I went grocery shopping with my two girls. I ended up purchasing greens and fruit. I was really looking forward to getting home and having a nice fresh cup of juice for lunch. We arrived at home and I took all of the groceries out and stored them. I took out my juicer and I started cutting all of the fruits and vegetables. While I'm doing all of this, the girls were distracted by the TV. I'm was hoping that they did not notice all of the vegetables that were going into the juicer. I turned on the machine and chaos broke. My oldest started crying and said "I do not want juice." Poor thing, she is traumatized. So I ignored her and continued with my healthy concoction. I poured the juice into two cups (That's all the juice I got.), put my youngest down for a nap, and  BEGGED my oldest to drink the juice. She finally came up with the brilliant idea to have a race and see who could drink the juice the fastest. (Of course I made sure she won. ;)) YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I succeeded again. She drank her juice.

Juicing: Really Good Recipe!!

Juicing

I have not been able to blog about my juicing experience since there was a piece of my juicer that was broken and I was waiting for it to arrive. The piece arrived a few days ago and here is a recipe that I just tried. All I did was juice apples and carrots. I bought a small bag of organic carrots from Publix and a bag of Daisy Girl organic apples. I used the entire bag of carrots and apples. The juice tasted really good but I think I used to many apples. It was a bit too sweet. Next time I'm going to add some greens.

Yummy Juice

Healthy Mommy

For those of you that juice, I was wondering if you have had any problems with your children drinking the concoction. I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old. It is pretty easy to get my oldest to drink the juice because I do not give her a choice. I'm having a bit of an issue with my youngest. If any of you have some awesome recipes I may have, will you please email them to me. Thanks in advance.

Okay, the other day, I decided to make some juice and I used pine apple, starfruit, spinach, and spring mix. I thought my invention was pretty good. My hubby thought it was alright and my oldest gave me problems once again. I gave some to my youngest and she said "yuck." I'm really wanting my kids to eat more greens. They LOVE to eat fruit but they give me a hard time when I serve them vegetables. The girls will eat sweet peas, corn, potatoes, and sweet potatoes but I wanted to incorporate more green vegetables. I found this recipe on the Internet but I have not tried it yet. Maybe I will next time I juice.

Broccoli Yuck!!!!!

Broccoli

So just a few days ago, my oldest daughter (7 years old) happens to mention that she likes broccoli. I was not aware of this. So on Saturday night, I decided  to make broccoli for them. The girls (I also have a 2 year old) were watching TV while I was making dinner. I decided to surprise my oldest daughter and cook the broccoli I had in the freezer. So I cut it into little pieces, then chopped it, put it in the frying pan, drizzled a bit of olive oil in it, and some minced garlic.

I was so excited that my girls were going to eat broccoli. I hate the vegetable and will never eat it myself but it is a good source of vitamin C, vitamin A, folic acid, calcium, and fiber. My oldest set the table, I approached them all excited, and placed the plates in front of them. My youngest tries it and says "Yuck, I don't like it." My oldest just gave me a look. I reminded her of what she had mentioned a few days ago and she says that fresh broccoli taste different from frozen broccoli. I did not know this. Did you????? So finally they ate it and now I know that fresh and frozen broccoli does not taste the same. Does anyone have any recipes for cooking broccoli??
