Broccoli
So just a few days ago, my oldest
daughter (7 years old) happens to mention that she likes broccoli. I was
not aware of this. So on Saturday night, I decided to make broccoli for
them. The girls (I also have a 2 year old) were watching TV while I was making
dinner. I decided to surprise my oldest daughter and cook the broccoli I had in
the freezer. So I cut it into little pieces, then chopped it, put it in the
frying pan, drizzled a bit of olive oil in it, and some minced garlic.
I was so excited that my girls were going to eat broccoli. I hate the vegetable and will never eat it myself but it is a good source of vitamin C, vitamin A, folic acid, calcium, and fiber. My oldest set the table, I approached them all excited, and placed the plates in front of them. My youngest tries it and says "Yuck, I don't like it." My oldest just gave me a look. I reminded her of what she had mentioned a few days ago and she says that fresh broccoli taste different from frozen broccoli. I did not know this. Did you????? So finally they ate it and now I know that fresh and frozen broccoli does not taste the same. Does anyone have any recipes for cooking broccoli??

ReplyDeleteI like to roast fresh broccoli, coat with some EVOO and garlic and roast for 20mins at like 375. Yum!! I also like it steamed with cheese sauce.
