Thank God
I'm just really thankful that I serve a God that is slow to anger and steadfast to forgive. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about my behavior. I become extremely upset when someone does not forgive me but when I apologize, I want them to forgive. Hmmm.... is that a double standard? At times, I find myself so upset about something or someone but I would never want someone to be upset with me. So with all of this said, I'm thankful that I serve a God that is slow to anger and steadfast to forgive. If He would hold a record of all of what I have done and would give me the punishment I totally deserve, boy would I be in a lot of trouble.

Numbers 14:18 (KJV) ‘The
LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving
iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and
the fourth generation.’
Psalm 86:15 (KJV) But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Nahum 1:3 The LORD
is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear
the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the
dust of his feet.
Romans 2:3-4 Do you
suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do
them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you
presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not
knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
2 Peter 3:9 The
Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is
patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all
should reach repentance.
